Arrivals and Departures: Bye Shaun! Welcome to the world Jim Storie Junior Junior!

Hello “might attend” and “will attend” WL467 people, all the best from Wavelength.
Chad Storie, bass player from Jim Storie Juniors, the heart & soul of the JSJ’s CD project, the gentleman who barreled this whole bizarre process along since its inception six months ago, just became a father this past Sunday! The JSJ’s CD release will be a true family event now, with the actual Jim Storie, who coincidentally just became a first-time grandfather this past Sunday, on drums. Jim was a local indie musician in Toronto a generation ago and is a fantastic drummer, he is actually filling in for Adam, who is taking care of his own new baby who just arrived a few months ago. Michael Segui might be able to come, but he needs to arrange for somebody to take care of his kids. My own kids will be with the ex-missus. We are considering changing our names to the Breeders, or maybe “the Failed Vasectomies” but we will stick with this JSJ moniker for now. I imagine 122 Greige will be back in action eventually and I will be off doing whatever it is that I do so the next 4 days will be our little window of being a band. I remember the first few bewildering months of fatherhood, so there’s no way we would resent it if Chad couldn’t attend. So, let’s see. If you can’t come Sunday the JSJ’s are also playing a show tonight (Thursday June 11) at the boat with Mean Red Spiders, Grasshopper, and Youth Crime.
Planet Creature just played an awesome show last Saturday at Smiling Buddha and are in fighting form. It will be a real pleasure to see these people again, many of whom have played Wavelength in different incarnations.
I heard from Kathleen Yearwood, the Edmontonian, is surrounded by Vikings and is happily touring Iceland this week, the plan is for her to come from the airport right to the stage for a 930 start. Wind at your back, Kathleen!
Ben Whitely will be filling in for Dorian Wolf in the Whole Entire Universe.
On a more somber note we at Wavelength would like to tip our hat to Shaun Bowring who has booked Sneaky Dee’s for five years, he’s always been honest and he is a real straight shooter we wish him all the best. We also send best wishes to Travis who is the new booker at (the legendary world-renowned venerated hotbed of independent live band music performed by living musicians ) Sneaky Dee’s.
OK that’s the news, very excited about this Wavelength. Peace and love, congratulations again to Kaye and Chad!
Love, Duncan
