I Want To Ride My Bicycle, I Want To Ride My Bike

No, it's not a Sesame Street inspired race, it's Toronto's turn for the Bicycle Film Festival!

Happening all over the world, our city's take on the fest opens tonight with performances by Do Make Say Think, The Wooden Sky, and Evening Hymns at everyone's new favourite venue the Polish Combantant's Hall.

But that's music; where are the bicycles and where are the films? Well, glad you asked!

From today until August 22nd the BFF (!) organizers have events happening like an Art Bike Party at Cartel on Queen St. W., screenings of bike inspired films at The Royal Cinema on College St., afterparties, and even valet bike parking courtesy of the Toronto Cyclists Union.

As for the films, well, geez, there are a lot and they all look amazing, from live action short films, xtreme action inspired flicks, retro videogame animation to CGI, it's all on the screen. The filmmakers come from cities all over the world so it's a rare treat to see work you might not ever see again in Toronto.

Everything you need to know about can be found in their printed programs and online here.

So pump up your tires, grease your chain, strap on your helmet and lights to be safe, and get yourself to these events. And maybe take the scenic route; you are on a bike after all.
