Les Mouches, April 17 2003 '“ October 2 2004: Purveyors of: 'œCum in my mouth flavourings.'? Les Mouches are survived by Final Fantasy, From Fiction and Awesome. A memorial will not be held.
The new Final Fantasy, originally due out in the fall, has been postponed until the spring. Owen Pallett is going on tour with the Arcade Fire and will follow that up with a solo European tour. Supposedly there is also a Final Fantasy/Animal Monster collaboration EP in the works. And finally, the long awaited Final Fantasy 7'?s are imminently due out on Escape Goat Records and It's A Disaster Records/Distribution.
From Fiction have signed with Last Gang Records. The new album, recorded with Steve Albini, is due out in the fall. They're touring Canada this month with Whitey Houston and The Illuminati.
Awesome have been hard at work on a series of DVD's and records recording in various parks, parking lots and forests.
Arts & Crafts have just signed Australian artist New Buffalo, who will be playing a show at Wavelength this September.
According to the rumour mill (aka StillePost.ca), the Sick Lipstick are trying to finish a track or two and maybe play a one-off reunion show.
Brodie West, of Deep Dark United and Drumheller, is moving to Amersterdam this fall. Lucky bastard.
The Creeping Nobodies are working on a new EP. No release date yet.
The Secret Handshake have just finished recording a full-length LP, set for release this September.
Alex Durlak and Nicholas Kennedy have closed the doors of The Complaint Department, purveyors of amazing posters and album art. Kennedy has formed Trip Print Press in its wake, while Alex pursues further musical explorations.
Copied directly from the Blocks news page: Magali Meagher (of the Phonemes) and Bob Wiseman (of Bob Wiseman) got married to each other at a sweaty rowing club overlooking the lake on July 26. Magali brought 1,000,000 French relatives and I saw a whole new kind of bird walking along the shore. There was also a lovely view of Hamilton and much celebrating!
The Poor Alex is closing its doors to music and theatre to become a restaurant, a yuppie restaurant apparently, right across from the recently refurbished Brunswick House.
Escape Goat Records celebrates it's third year with their annual With Friends Like These festival featuring bands like Bell Orchestre, Wooden Stars, Final Fantasy, Neil Haverty, Purple Hill, Ohbijou, Jon-Rae, N!fty and others.
