Post-hardcore for the post-social

Everyone at Wavelength seems to know you but me. Would you care to introduce yourself and your band mates?

HEIDI HAZELTON: Lady from the Ottawa Valley who sings and plays guitar.
BRANDON VALDIVIA: Very busy drummer from... possibly outer space.
SCOTT BALLEM: Happily married man and bass player. Mystery upon mystery.
LEE SHEPPARD: Guitar player and singer, just like Heidi, only he hails from a quiet dead end road north of Oakville and teaches high school.

Who in the Toronto music scene do you admire?

Everybody making honest, heartfelt music... and some others.

Often people who like music also like drugs; what drugs do you think best accompany your music?

All drugs should be enjoyed responsibly by all except the performers immediately before or during a performance.

Sir Bono, Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, uses his fame as a musician to leverage important social issues. As a musician you have the opportunity to use this public forum to raise awareness for whatever floats your boat; what do you have to say?

Our boat is adrift, though occasionally caught in the disasters-of-biblical-magnitude stream, the concern-for-man's-relationship-with-the-planet current, and the threat-of-global-imperialism drift. We're just glad our boat's holding water.

Have you been interviewed for anything before? How do you like it?

We enjoy thought-provoking, insightful questions. We imagined someone might at least buy us a drink.

In many ways the purpose of this interview is to entice people into attending your Wavelength performance on April 29th. Let’s use this space to ironically discourage people from coming.

We sure are loud.
