Purveyors of:
pop music that makes you feel human; being from Victoria; the healing power of bass.

Dory Kornfeld's friend David Ravensbergen lives in Vancouver. When Dory took on the task of interviewing Run Chico Run here. She asked Dave what he knew. "I know they're from Victoria," he said, "they make nice music." Dave may be one of the most honest voices in music journalism in this country, but it seemed prudent to ask Run Chico Run to speak for their selves.

Who's in your band, and what do they do?

There is Skillsaw who plays the one-armed drum kit, keyboards, guitar and singing voice. I'm Suedebones and I play all the same stuff.

Where is Chico running to?

Chico appears to be running into total obscurity and financial ruination. Conversely one might argue that Chico is running to your mother.

My friend Dave described you as making "nice music" -- would you agree?

Well if your friend Dave's idea of a good time is slipping on a pair of gloves made of mesquite smoked jerky and gently wiping tears from the plump cheeks of a recently orphaned child, then sure, “nice” is an apt description. However, we have always liked to describe our music as being “fair!” or “adequate!”

What should Toronto expect from your show?

Toronto should expect to feel really good about itself because all money generated by this show is going to our new charity: Bass For Kids. It has come to our attention that most kids living in the third world grow up without bass and so we are raising money to send them a bunch of bass so that they can feel said bass and experience its healing power. Toronto can also expect to experience the healing power of bass.
