WL 369 - Sunday, June 24 – 11pm
Purveyors of: sound and motion.
Fresh out of Earth's dank bosom, LSDoubleDcup are free to wreak havoc on all humans. Fronted by former Jon Rae and the River bassist Ian Russell, the band has so far played a few shows around Toronto and is quietly anticipating their Wavelength debut. Stu Hood inquired LSDoubleDcup as to their true origins.
I saw a couple videos of you guys on YouTube that looked like some sort of musical terrorist recruiting video. Is it safe to ask who all the members of the band are?
Abraham Bing Bong a.k.a. Jammy Handracks, RapWerdz, Queen Latifa, Phillip K. Vagina, and Our Lady of the Flowers
How long has the band been around, and how did the laws of nature allow you all come together?
RapWerdz: After we finished figuring out “the meaning of life” which is a song on our first EP Big Questions we conquered the boundaries of nature and our bond has lasted forever
Abraham Bing Bong: Yeah... under our masks our faces are inside out.
LSDoubleDcup bears little resemblance to the group most people know you from, which is Jon-Rae and the River. Have you carried over any experience from that band into your new project?
Queen Latifa: Jon-Rae writes all our lyrics
What would you say is the best way to put hecklers in their place?
Phillip K. Vagina: N/A
What's in store for the band in the near future? Recordings? Tours? Book signings?
Liberation of lost libidos.
Liberation of young minds.
Release of existential anxieties by proxy to the LSDoubleDcup experience.
Genuflect to the coercive rhythms that rub against our auras.
Dissolve the sands of universe.
Under our masks are hour glasses.
Fulfill our self prophecy from the hit single Future Cop.”
Get high off honesty, goodwill and integrity.
I'm going to do this other thing.
Chips and acid at the movies.
Get my license.
Cameos in "Groped by an Angel."
Open a bag of peanuts over and over.
Write some new songs.
Go camping.
Rolling with the punches (this summer).
Get in touch with your inner child.
