Diversity in Indie

Daniel Nebiat

Eye Weekly just ran an article about (the lack of) diversity in the independent arts scene in Toronto, a topic we covered with a panel discussion during the Wavelength Anniversary in February. They talk to independent music scene staples like Carl Wilson (of Zoilus and the Globe and Mail), Mathew Blackett (of Spacing Magazine), and our own Jonny Dovercourt.  I can't help but feel like the discussion needs to include a broader spectum of voices from other communities about the issue, but it's good to see that it's an issue that people are thinking about.  What do you think?
