Stitched in Silence

WL 378 - Sunday, September 2 - 10pm
Purveyors of: The Case of the Stomach Punchers

Wavelength isn't really known for booking a lot of hardcore bands. So when we do book one, you know it's good. Cursed, Fucked Up... that's about it really. Now you can add Stitched in Silence to that esteemed list.

You're on a cross-Canada tour right now. Tell us a tale of the road.

Edmonton, Riley (our drummer)'s birthday. He decideds he wants to go to Dennys at 4 am to get his free meal. We hop in the van, but its so dark and have no idea where we were, we end up hitting some construction and blowing a tire. Everyone in the van not driving was too drunk to change it so we drove on the rim and spent 7 hours the next day finding a new rim and barely got to our show in Calgary on time.

Your album is called Prepare for Glory and features a hoplite helmet on the cover. How many times have you seen 300?

300 times. Ironic, I know.

Is Prepare for Glory your first release with Torque Records?

Sure is, we had a demo out called The Duke Point Massacre, but only sold about 200 copies before getting signed.

When did you hook up with Torque and how's it working out?

Early this spring and it’s been great. We love all the bands we share the
label with. As people and as fans of them.

Who are some other west coast bands we Torontonians should be watching for?

Becoming The Martyr is blowing up fast. The Butchers Hand has some major thrash and we'll be out there again with The Fortunate soon if everything works out as planned.

Which scene in 300 most closely resembles a Stitched in Silence live show?

The very last battle scene, where they are in the big huddle and you think they are giving up, but then they come out and blow them away. That’s us.
