We at Wavelength are big fans of local music writer Carl Wilson and his 33 1/3 book about Celine Dion entitled Let's Talk About Love, A Journey to the End of Taste. It's nice to see it get blogged about, buzzed about, name dropped and what have you. Well when asked about guilty pleasures on the Oscar red carpet, Franco plugs Wilson's book. Respect.

Update extravaganza! Carl Wilson will be appearing on The Colbert Report to talk about this very awesome book! Holy are we dreaming? No, seriously? This happens on March 4th at 11:30pm EST on The Comedy Network and Comedy Central. Really, c'mon, we fell asleep right? Congrats again, Carl!

Another update, friend of Wavelength Vish Khanna (CFRU, Exclaim, CBC3) is going to be interviewing Carl on his CBC Radio 3 morning show, Wrath of Khanna, on Tuesday, March 3rd. Just go to the CBC Radio 3 website and listen between 9am and noon EST.

Updates galore! You can find an on-demand stream of Vish's interview with Carl here. There's also going to be a gathering and public viewing of Carl on Colbert at The Pilot Tavern's Stealth Lounge (2nd floor, 22 Cumberland Street) on Wednesday, March 4th. Festivities start at 9pm and include performances by Wavelength-favourite Laura Barrett, sound poet Angela Rawlings, MC Sean K. Robb, Andrew Kaufman, Sean Dixon and DJ Brian Joseph Davis. Copies of the book will also be available.
