Saddle Creek <3's The RAA

RAA - Hometowns

Amy Cole just posted on Facebook (that's where the news comes from these days) that The Rural Alberta Advantage have been signed by Saddle Creek Records, who will re-release the RAA's debut album Hometowns.

The RAA have gained a lot of exposure ever since getting an online distribution deal with eMusic, selling the equilvalent of SHIT TONS of their music as a result. Then they played a SXSW showcase with Grizzly Bear that had everyone from Pitchfork to the AV Club and many, many more salivating and slapping a "could be huge" stamp on them. Lo-and-behold they've gone and got themselves one of them ol' timey record deals, and with the same people that brought you Bright Eyes, Ladyfinger and Neva Dinova, and handle all the U.S. work for Sebastian Grainger and the Mountains, Land of Talk, and Tokyo Police Club.

I think this officially makes Paul Banwatt Toronto's most popular drummer, and probably means we won't see much from the Banwatt/Cole side project We're Scared for a little while longer.
