Last minute show / Come drink whiskey

Where There's Whiskey There's Song

There's a Wavelength show happening next week. Last minute notice, I know. But circumstancial circumstances happen. Like elections. So nitty gritty details out of the way: Friday November 5th at The Garrison (1197 Dundas St. W.). Pay-What-You-Can @ 9PM.

But, last minute or not, this show is going to be incredible/awesome/rocking for three reasons: Entire Cities, Ronley Teper's Lipliners, and The Lake Vernon Drowning.

Not only are these bands and the people in them the best people who stuck through the mess of scheduling or stepped up to fill the stage but they make pretty damn good music, too. And some of it you probably have never heard.

Entire Cities have a new record coming out in the next few months. It's going to be on all of your best of everything lists so why not come hear it live first?

Ronley Teper's Lipliners have been blogscribed as 'Tom Waits birthing Joanna Newsom' or 'Joanna Newsome breastfeeding Tom Waits' or something to that effect. Disturbing, right? But think about the music that would come out of either scenario.

The Lake Vernon Drowning was the first band I asked to play this show. Just go listen, you'll understand why. As soon as you do you'll ask him to play your show, too. You might even recognize him from that other band he plays with, Bruce Peninsula.

The fourth reason this show will warm your bones is the whiskey. It's November, folks. It's not getting any warmer for awhile. Accept it with a smooth sip of your favourite whiskey, maybe with a few rocks, maybe sour, maybe a dash of bitters or soda. Anywhichway - delicious.

So look to your left, yep, there it is, the event listing for this show. Click away.
