Uncrated: Mid-'90s Toronto Indie Cassette Blog

This might only be of interest to those of us on the far side of 30, but Gideon Steinberg, currently drummer in The Soupcans and once the intense kit-assaulter with the seminal Toronto band Pecola, has compiled a blog of indie cassette releases from Toronto in the mid-'90s. The page features great archival-style photography of the cassette faces and insert artwork, along with - Hallelujah - downloadable rips of the audio for each side. A personal favourite is Smallmouth's self-titled tape from 1994 - I had forgotten that it features both Side One and The True, Eventual Side One. Some great live videos of Pecola were also posted, but unfortunately taken down a few days ago for reasons unclear.

So, is it too soon for an "oral history" (a la Please Kill Me, Treat Me Like Dirt or This Book is Broken) about Toronto in the '90s?
