Two chances to catch a Teen Sleuth at the Music Gallery this weekend + another visit from Buke & Gass

There's a really cool show happening down at the Music Gallery this weekend that gets the official Wavelength recommendation. Teen Sleuth and the Freed Cyborg Choir is the production of an up-and-coming Montréal arts collective and it can only be described as a "sci-fi revolution rock opera." Or a ghost fantasy rock musical, perhaps? Ryan from Wavelength and I caught it at the Pop Montreal festival last fall and were really impressed.

The show incorporates elements of theatre, dance, video, indie rock, and fantasy storytelling. If you dug Maggie MacDonald's The Rat King or Le Cyc by Polydactyl Hearts, or you like walks in haunted forests, then this will be up your alley. You have two chances to catch Teen Sleuth this weekend — it runs tonight (Dec. 3) and tomorrow (Dec. 4). Tickets are available at Rotate This and Soundscapes for $10 each.

Also on Saturday (Dec. 4), our friends at The Union Events are
presenting a show at Sneaky Dee's, featuring our friends from Brooklyn,
Buke and Gass
, who some of you may recall from their memorable
appearance at the ALL CAPS! Island Festival in August. Performing on
their homemade instruments, the "buke" and the "gass," the lovable duo
of Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez will be playing alongside fellow New
Yorkers Talk Normal, and Toronto's own and awesome Doldrums.
