ELEVEN: The Wavelength 11th Anniversary Festival — Line-Up Announced!

Happy Twenty-Eleven, Toronto and the World!

We're very thrilled to announce the line-up of our amazing Eleventh Anniversary Festival, entitled simply ELEVEN. Wavelength 515 didn't have quite the same ring to it, but luckily 5+1+5 also equals ELEVEN, which we like 'cuz it's "One Louder." Continuing the numerical theme, this five-night, five-venue festival — in keeping with our Anniversary tradition — features $11 tickets (PWYC on opening and closing nights), 22 bands, and $33 all-access passes. Tickets and passes will be on sale by Jan. 18 at Soundscapes and Rotate This.

Take a minute to peruse the line-up here. We feel like there's something for everyone here, from long-running noise warriors like Anagram to new-school folk-popsters Kite Hill; from electro dance party-starters Woodhands headlining Steam Whistle, to a special reunion by Hamilton proto-punks Simply Saucer at the Garrison; from scene veterans like Eric Chenaux trying new things (in this case, an Electric Trio) to visits by brand-new bands from the exciting Montreal scene, like Grimes and Pat Jordache. We're also going to be unveiling some new Anniversary activities, in the form of afternoon workshops and artists' talks, so stay tuned.
