Just one week ago I read an interesting little column by Bert Archer on Toronto Standard called "Death of the Alt-Weekly." It appears to be slightly more precient than I thought at the time, as I just received the most recent issue of SEE Magazine, the award winning Edmonton alt-weekly, and learned that the paper is folding. Sad news. Apparently SEE is going to be absorbed by Vue Weekly, the other Edmonton weekly. We wish the folks at SEE and Vue the best of luck in the changing media landscape and look forward to their coverage of the amazing and oft-overlooked Edmonton scene.
