You may have heard this that Friday, Wavelength is presenting a spiky, sprightly night of free jazz punk at Double Double Land in Kensington Market, as part of a mini-series code-named SST (the Summer Solstice Triptych). Featured guests include an incredible trio featuring drummer Han Bennink, guitarist Terrie Ex (of the legendary Dutch avant-punk band The Ex) and Toronto alto saxman Brodie West. Han Bennink is a founding member of the ICP (Instant Composers Pool) and he is probably the greatest living Dutch jazz drummer. He's also prone to doing wacky yet incredible things like playing a drum kit made of cheese. See here if think I'm brie-ing facetious...
