Thanks for helping us launch summer! Your love is like a heat wave.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Summer Solstice Triptych mini-series at Double Double Land this weekend... and braved some of the hottest temperatures anyone has physically experienced!! Yes, that was fucking HOT TIMES, people of Wavelength. It was so hot that Fresh Snow - whose otherwise fantastic name came off as some kind of taunt - shorted out the power during the first song of their set on Thursday night. The band made up for it with an awesome fiddle jam and crowd sing-a-long of "Mony Mony," however. Well, that's what happens when you book a Summer Solstice show above a bakery! It wasn't quite as baking for Han Bennink, Terrie Ex and Brodie West the following evening, but it was packed and still sweltering - but the heat just made their fantastic performance that much more memorable. If you missed it, listen to Mechanical Forest Sound's recording. Extra special thanks to the folks at Double Double Land for opening their space to us and being such great hosts.

Wavelength has more goodies coming up this summer. Our Band on the Run "musical treasure hunt" has been postponed from July to September, but mark August 11 & 12 on your calendar for the ALL CAPS! Island Festival. We'll be back at Artscape Gibraltar Point for our fourth year, and we're thrilled to share the news that we will be able to offer CAMPING again this year! Our next event is on July 5th, our co-presentation with the Open Roof Festival of music and films on the roof of Amsterdam Brewery (at the foot of Bathurst), featuring Guelph soul-pop crew The Magic. And stay tuned for a punk rocked-out Wavelength on July 27th!
