Existential wanderings, early morning row-boat paddles... and Norwegian black metal? Wavelength's participation in TIFF this year involves a live concert featuring Lichens a.k.a. Robert A.A. Lowe, the New York musician who also appears on screen as the "star" of A Spell to Ward Off the Darkness, the new feature-length film by Ben Rivers and Ben Russell, featured as part of TIFF's coincidentally named, experimental film series, Wavelengths. Spell screens three times during the festival (see below for showtimes) and Wavelength presents Lichens Tuesday (Sept. 10) with guests Sing Leaf and HVYWTR. Meanwhile, check out the trailer:
