That Was Endless Summer... And THANK YOU!
By jonny ~ Posted Monday, August 18th 2014They say it takes a village to raise a child, but what does it take to raise a Tent City? A lot of love, faith and hard work – and for that, we’d like to thank EVERYONE who pitched in to make Saturday’s Endless Summer mini-fest a hazy, dreamy reality. Sure, we had to fight off a couple of afternoon downpours, but our dedicated musicians, volunteers, vendors, and audience members weren’t put off by a little bit of rain.
So, to that end, we must say a hearty Wavelength THANK YOU to the following exemplary humans:
THANK YOU to our volunteers for stepping up, pitching in, and dedicating your time to helping us with every imaginable task – from working the door to stacking tables on top of a vintage forklift!
THANK YOU to our musicians for being brilliant, creative, imaginative, and willing to drive up to 10 hours to perform!
THANK YOU to our food vendors the Travelling Emporium, for keeping us fed, with your delicious, healthy and insanely affordable goods. I want another one of those BBQ quesidillas RIGHT NOW!
THANK YOU to our all our sponsors and funders for believing in our cause of supporting emerging local talent and cross-pollinating communities. We were thrilled to welcome aboard a new wine sponsor, Vineland, Ontario’s Tawse Winery. I want another glass of that Riesling right now!
THANK YOU to our visual artists, General Chaos and Melissa Fisher, for illuminating and enlivening our Tent City with your dazzling projections and decorations!
THANK YOU to our hard-working tech crew, for making the show sound awesome – and run like effin’ clockwork!
THANK YOU to our DJs, for having great taste in music and being babes!
Finally, THANK YOU to our host, José Paulino at Vintage & Flea, for helping us create such a special venue for this occasion. You made us feel so welcome, and it was great to work with you.
Let’s do it again! Oh, and we are – the next Wavelength (in Toronto) continues the spirit of “Endless Summer” on Toronto Island on September 7th. See you then!
