Wavelength returns to the Island Sept. 7th

On Sept. 7th, Wavelength will return to Artscape Gibraltar Point on Toronto Island, the site where we previously hosted ALL CAPS! Island Festival from 2009-13. The Wavelength Island Show is a FREE event open to all in the community that will feature live musical performances to be filmed for inclusion in Wavelength's forthcoming online video series, supported by the Ontario Music Fund's Music Futures program.

The musical line-up will feature hotly buzzed post-punk pop quartet Weaves (Buzz Records, recently featured in Rolling Stone and fresh off playing the SummerWorks Music Series), Wavelength Artist Incubator bands, instrumental space-rockers Fresh Snow (long-listed for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize) and electronic indie-pop duo Most People (last appearing at Wavelength's NICE cross-cultural event), and robot dance band MATROX. The night will conclude with a surprise set by some special secret guests!

The venue, Artscape Gibraltar Point is an artist residency centre located in the gorgeous natural surroundings of Toronto Island, a 20 minute walk from the Hanlan's Point and Centre Island ferry docks, and directly opposite the historic Gibraltar Point lighthouse. The centre has incubated numerous artists and musicians associated with the Wavelength Music Series. This location will make for a wonderful location for this special concert and video shoot.

The event is free to attend, open to all ages, and will also feature projections, installations, food trucks, and a licensed bar.
