Camp Wavelength: Important Info for Overnight Campers

DEAR CAMPERS!!

We’re very proud to offer overnight camping at the very first Camp Wavelength! This marks the only chance the public has to camp on Toronto Island. If you’re one of the lucky people who purchased a camping pass, we have some points of interest to prepare you for your stay!

PLANNING YOUR TRIP

WHEN TO ARRIVE
Camping spots are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so get there as soon as you can to get the best spot possible.

EARLY CHECK-IN AT 3PM ON FRIDAY FOR CAMPERS!!

Doors open to the public at 5pm but we’re giving campers a two-hour start to get your tents set up and settled in.

IS THERE A CUTOFF TIME?

No, but we recommend getting there early enough to set up your tent before dark (sunset is at 8:00PM) and enjoy the show.

CHECK-IN OPEN AT NOON ON SATURDAY.

Get there in time to set up your tent and enjoy the whole day of activities!

HOW CAMPING WORKS / GETTING YOUR TENT HERE (AND BACK)

GEAR SHUTTLE:

- Cargo van will be available to transport your camping gear from the dock to the festival venue on the island side for THREE ferry arrivals on Friday and TWO ferry arrivals on Saturday (see below for times).

- We apologize but due to unforeseen technical difficulties, the previously advertised Steam Whistle schoolbus is no longer available.

- However, we will still be offering a small passenger shuttle service, though space is very limited.

GEAR SHUTTLE SCHEDULE:

Friday, August 28:

2:30pm Ferry to Hanlan’s Point

4:45pm Ferry to Hanlan’s Point

6:30pm Ferry to Hanlan’s Point

Saturday, August 29:

11:30am Ferry to Hanlan’s Point

1:30pm Ferry to Hanlan’s Point

- Take the Hanlan’s ferry at any of these times, and when you get off the boat, a volunteer will direct you to the Gear Shuttle.

- This will work like a coat check – a tent check, if you will. Give them your gear, and you will get a ticket. You’ll have a walk to the venue, about a 20-minute walk (or wait for a ride on our small passenger shuttle) and your gear will be waiting when you get there. Sign in, show your ticket, get your gear, and a volunteer will show you where to set up.

BIKING OR WALKING DIRECTIONS:

  • Festival venue located on the main island roadway (443 Lake Shore Rd.), directly opposite Gibraltar Point lighthouse.
  • 20 minute walk or 5-10 minute bike ride from Hanlan’s Point and Centre Island ferry docks.
  • Bike racks available – first come, first served.

WILL CALL:

- If you purchased your pass through Ticketfly.com, your name will be on the will call list at the main entrance. You will just need to show your confirmation or I.D. to the box office staff.

SIGNING IN:

- After you check in at the box office or show your tickets, you will have to sign in as an overnight camper.

- Here you will have to sign a waiver, you will get a camping wristband and you’ll be directed by a volunteer where to set up your tent.

CAMPING SPOTS & PRIVILEGES:

- Due to limited space, you will be shown your spot where to camp.

- Spots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Camping is only available if you have a Camping Pass.

- Camping passes are sold per person – no matter how many people per tent, you will each need a pass.

SIGNING OUT:

- Please tear down your tent on Sunday
no later than 6:00PM

- We will have tent checks set up, where your gear will remain safe during the rest of the show.

- At 10:00pm SHARP the Gear Shuttle will take its load to the Hanlan’s Point ferry.

- Please make your way to Hanlan’s Point to catch the last ferry to the city at 11:15pm.

- Tent check will use the same ticket system as when you checked in, and you will pick up your gear at the Hanlan’s Point ferry dock.

A
FINAL WORD
:

We do our best with this festival to create an atmosphere of respect, inclusiveness, and friendliness. The venue we’re presenting at is the home of more than a dozen people, and Toronto Island is home to more than 300 people. It is also Toronto’s largest park, the largest car-free community in North America, and home to a number of rare and indigenous flora and fauna. We greatly appreciate the opportunity afforded to us to camp and check out great art and listen to some amazing music in one of the most beautiful places in the country. We ask for your help in making Camp Wavelength an experience that’s positive, respectful and memorable for all those involved. Let’s be great to each other this weekend.

See you this weekend!
